A Bright Column

Column of Light – ©️2022 Patrick Canganelli,

some are filled with hate,
but I feel only love.
and I cannot offer anything
but great caring.
if we ever tire
of destroying everything around us,
Love will be here
hoping for a time and place,
a day in the sunlight,
perhaps,
where we can see things for what they are
perhaps we could finally
hear the whimpering and desperate child,
or notice all the mothers
whose arms are empty.
perhaps we could devise
a challenge for ourselves
to see and sense someone else,
for if we can
break the outer shell
we can
feel a child’s hand curled inside
the
once
clenched fist,
we could experience
the joy of something that
we gave,
just
turn a face away from the hot breath
that keeps souls
locked away,
at that moment
lift your eyes—
you will see Me gazing at your
wavering path
come just another step
and My voice will be the Siren’s song
but not to dash us upon the rocks
My plan is to open My arms
and call you to come forward—
My arms My heart My love,
OUR love
waits here
in a column
that will draw souls into paradise—
and all hate will disappear.
then
we will start
the
new
day.
